Thank you for expressing an interest in the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship for Children of Employees. This year The Auxiliary will award one scholarship of $7,500 to a graduating high school senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in September. The Auxiliary is committed to offering a substantial award toward the cost of higher education for the most outstanding student candidate.

GENERAL INFORMATION
To be eligible, a candidate must be:
 

  1. A child of an active employee (who has been on the payroll as of January 2, 2008)

  2. Graduating in good standing from an accredited high school in 2008

  3. Able to demonstrate participation in extracurricular activities and community service during the high school years

INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION
Accompanying a hard copy of the Auxiliary Scholarship Application Form, you must include:

  1. Your high school academic transcript

  2. One letter of recommendation from your guidance counselor

  3. Two letters of recommendation from teachers who know you well

All application materials must be received in one package. Applications with missing or incomplete information will not be considered. All applications must be typed or reproduced, verbatim, using a computer.

All materials must be received by mail on or before the deadline of Friday, March 14, 2008. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

PROCEDURES REGARDING FINALISTS AND WINNER
The CCMC Auxiliary Scholarship Committee will interview all finalists in person. Finalists will be contacted directly by April 18th to schedule their interviews. All others will be notified by letter regarding their status. The final decision and notifications will be made by mid-May. The scholarship will be awarded to the recipient at the CCMC Auxiliary Annual Meeting on June 6, 2008.
