Easy Breathing
Easy Breathing II
The original Easy
Breathing© research study was specifically designed for
busy, primary care providers who work in urban clinical
settings with a high volume of patients. In an effort to
determine the transferability of Easy Breathing© from urban
primary care clinics to the private practice setting,
Easy Breathing© II
was created for use in private practices. This on-going
program is funded by the Agency for Health Care Research and
Quality (AHRQ) and was modified for implementation by
practitioners in private practice settings in Hartford
County. Furthermore, in a partnership arrangement with
ConnectiCare Inc., the effectiveness of Easy Breathing© II
in the private sector, as administered by a managed care
organization (MCO), continues to be studied.
Goals of Easy Breathing© II
- Improve recognition and classification of asthma
- Assist providers in developing a systematic,
standardized approach to asthma management in their
practice
- Improve the health of children with asthma
- Decrease the need for medical services and reduce
health care costs for children with asthma
