Overview | Staff | Comfort Central | Referrals to the Program
The Pain Relief Program at Connecticut Children's Medical Center consists of three major components: the Acute Pain Consultation Program, the Chronic Pain Program, and "Comfort Central," the medical center's program to address pain in all of our patients. The Acute Pain Consultation Program provides pain management advice to physician's caring for children in the hospital who have complex pain problems. In the Chronic Pain Program, children with longstanding and persistent pain are evaluated and managed as outpatients by a multidisciplinary team (physician, psychologist, physical therapist, and nurse). The "Comfort Central" initiative is focused on creating as pain-free an experience as possible for all children at Connecticut Children's through education, protocol and policy development, and increasing public awareness.
