In keeping with a very unique model for family-centered care, the cancer specialists, nurses and staff in the division partner with patients and families throughout the entire care process from diagnosis to treatment to follow-up care. The exceptional cancer care team at Connecticut Children’s understands that the increase in survival rates for children with cancer over the past 30 years has been in large part due to the number of new treatment regimens developed through clinical trials. As a key member of the Children’s Oncology Group, an international consortium that seeks to cure or prevent childhood cancers through scientific discovery, the division offers patients the very latest innovations in clinical therapy while simultaneously helping to advance clinical cancer research of benefit to patients everywhere.
