The Division of Neonatology at Connecticut Children's Medical Center offers comprehensive medical
and consultation services for all newborn infants requiring diagnostic evaluation or intensive
medical care. Our neonatologists are on the faculty of the University of Connecticut School of
Medicine, and supervise the care of newborns in CCMC's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The
NICU offers intensive medical, surgical and nursing care, state-of-the art electronic monitoring,
life support systems and radiology, and a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.
We are members of the Vermont-Oxford Network. The faculty and staff of the Division of
Neonatology work closely with specialists in Obstetrics, Maternal/Fetal Medicine, Pediatric
and Cardiac Surgery, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Neurology, Medical Genetics, and other
medical and surgical subspecialties to assure optimal coordination of care from before birth
to after discharge.
Consultations or arrangements for transporting a baby to the CCMC NICU may be made by calling
the NICU directly (860-545-9720). An attending physician or fellow is available 24 hours a
day to discuss patient management and arrange for transport if needed. |
