FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 28, 2007 "CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER OPENS NEW PEDIATRIC SPECIALTY CENTER IN GLASTONBURY" HARTFORD, Conn.—Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and the CCMC Faculty Practice Plan are pleased to announce a new state-of-the-art pediatric specialty center in Glastonbury at 310 Western Blvd which opened on Aug. 15. The new 14,000 square foot building replaces and expands services previously provided at the Hebron Avenue site, and is conveniently located near Route 2. A wide array of pediatric medical and surgical specialty services are available including:
“The overarching goal of opening these two new outpatient facilities is to bring our pediatric programs closer to the children we serve,” said Dean Rapoza, executive director of the CCMC Faculty Practice Plan. “It will improve access to care, and timeliness of appointments with our highly trained specialists in children’s health.” The Glastonbury Pediatric Specialty Center also will house CCMC’s first community-based radiology suite, subject to approval by the Connecticut Office of Healthcare Access.
